Reds are linear meaning its a smooth press all they way down whereas browns have a tactile bump to let you know you’ve actuated the switch. I’ve used both and seeing as you’re looking at the gk61 im assuming they are gateron switches. The browns have 55g actuation force and reds have 45g.

The Gateron Red switches feel lighter than Gateron Yellows. Gateron Reds have a lower actuation force of 45g than the Yellow Gaterons, requiring a 50g force to actuate. The Red Gateron switch may be a good choice for people new to mechanical keyboards or for people who prefer a smooth and light keystroke.
