Reds are linear meaning its a smooth press all they way down whereas browns have a tactile bump to let you know you’ve actuated the switch. I’ve used both and seeing as you’re looking at the gk61 im assuming they are gateron switches. The browns have 55g actuation force and reds have 45g.
The Red and Blue Cherry MX switches produce a loud click. Cherry MX Red switches are quieter, but they still produce top-out and bottom-out effects. Depending on the level of feedback you prefer, you can choose between a Brown and a Blue Cherry MX Switch. The Red version is the quietest, but it has no tactile feedback.
